Brentley turned one month old yesterday!
Today is the start of our second week home without Ryan. It's amazing how quickly the days fly by and generally all we do is eat, shower, change diapers, and nap. I usually have about 2 hours to be productive in the afternoon. Last week I spent the time going to a mom's support group at Kaiser, the farmer's market, Target, and the grocery store. Not too exciting but it's a whole new adventure with Brent and the stroller in tow. Brent is eating very well, last week Tuesday (7/10) he was 8 lbs 6 ozs. He's still eating every 3 hours except at night he'll sometimes go 5 hours which is much appreciated! He's getting much more vocal, his happy baby sounds are so cute! I've started noticing real tears when he's crying, not looking forward to when they are streaming down his face.
Uncle John and Aunt Terri visited on Saturday on their way to Tahoe. He practically slept through their entire visit but I guess that's better than a crying baby!
Here's some pictures from our one month photo session and from John & Terri's visit. He's already making his teddy bear look smaller compared to his birthday!

Brent's 4th of July week
Brent had a big week! Lots of firsts for the little guy.
First, his Uncle Justin, Aunt Adri, and Cousin Dylan came to visit from San Diego. He has a lot of growing to do to keep up with Dylan! (Dylan is 11 mos.)
Dad gave Brent his first bottle...
Went wine tasting at Clos LaChance in Morgan Hill...
Took some nice family pictures (I'm 3 weeks old!)...
Brent is a very good baby. He eats about every 3 hours but sometimes takes naps up to 5 hours. He's staying awake for longer stretches and is very happy being held or hanging out in his vibrating chair or swing. He cries when we're changing his diaper or is hungry but is pretty easy to calm down. He does like to eat at 3 am (which is not his mom's favorite time to be awake) but that's about as bad as it gets. He's growing every day, he's probably close to 8 lbs and is 21 inches long.
Ryan is going back to work tomorrow - he's going to have quite the welcoming home party every night!

And went to the ranch (it was really hot)!

Brent is more than 2 weeks old!
Hard to believe 2 weeks have gone by already. Brent is definitely getting bigger, he's over his birth weight now, and growing taller. He's still in newborn clothes which is ironic considering everyone was so sure he'd out of newborn sizes so quickly. He also has stopped shedding so much skin and just yesterday lost most of his umbilical cord. He's more alert, staying awake for longer stretches, and really likes kicking his legs. The doctor says we don't have to wake him up to feed him anymore but he's waking up on his own every 3 hours. He's much more efficient at feeding but he still likes to be awake in the middle of the night. We gave him a pacifer for the first time this morning. I could tell he wasn't hungry but really wanted something to suck on and our fingers weren't cutting it. He fell asleep pretty quickly afterwards. Olive the dog is all of sudden very focused on Brent. She comes to "help" everytime he cries or gets his diaper changed. Maybe she thinks he is her puppy. Probably not, but that's what I'm telling myself.
I think he's starting to look a lot more like Ryan!
